Well, Intruder, I am with you on this one. I disagree with some of these comments.
"War is not honourable, war is shit!". Of course that's true. I agree, and I'll remember that the next time I think about an issue like freedom of speech or civil rights. If no one had died for those rights I wouldn't have them.
Canada normally celebrates Remembrance Day (the Canuck equivalent of the US Memorial Day) on November 11th. It's a day to remember all the folks (Civilian, military, young, old...) who fought and often died for freedom.
This last Sunday Canada brought back the body of one of its unknown fallen World War One soldiers from France and buried him with full honours. I'm thinking about that poor sod, and I'm thinking about all three of my grandma's brothers who died in WW2.
